At this OREF event on 7th January 2025, Becky Ford and Mark Hull of Community Energy Scotland tell us about the Island Community Action Network (iCAN) which looks to help communities work together in response to the climate and biodiversity crisis.
iCAN is facilitating knowledge sharing and peer support between community organisations in the Outer Hebrides, Orkney, and Shetland, and developing a network of Community Resource Centres to provide reliable, clear, jargon-free information to support community decarbonisation.
Led by Community Energy Scotland (CES) iCAN is central to the Islands Centre for Net Zero (ICNZ) initiative, ensuring that the vital knowledge, experience, and expertise of island communities drives the process of decarbonisation, and that our communities are best equipped to respond and act in the climate emergency.
